When did you move to Enos Park? 2015
What drew you to the neighborhood? Historic neighborhood and the community garden. We were renting an apartment downtown and had gotten involved in the community garden in Enos Park. We got to know more about the neighborhood and heard about the land bank program where we could purchase a distressed house at a nominal cost if we agreed to renovate it.
What kind of activities have you gotten involved in around the neighborhood? Board member, Community Garden
Was your house move in ready? Yes, but with some urgent needs like new roof and electrical service update.
What projects have you completed since moving in, or have planned for the near future? Front porch, new roof, electrical service update, new garage door, some window updates, landscaping
Did you do any of the work yourself? No, except for landscaping and some minor interior repairs
Any advice for someone contemplating a move to the neighborhood and/or a renovation project? Pace yourself, make a list of priorities and a timeline then give yourself plenty of extra time and money for unexpected surprises. The neighborhood is a great place to live and is improving everyday.
What’s your favorite thing about living in Enos Park? Community garden and historic homes.
